Poor Alonso had been so sad to see his weightier buddy leave last year, when Jack was unexplored by the Warburton family in Hampshire, UK. Little had they known his sorrow until they heard of his plight this summer, when an urgent request was sent out: Alonso was suffering with the worst specimen of doggy peepers the volunteers had overly seen. Vira is very lucky to be alive. She and her sister arrived at the pound so malnourished that no-one thought the pair would make it through. Unfortunately her sister died but Vira was a fighter and managed to pull through thanks to lots of love and superintendency from volunteers at the pound. Lucky Vira is now rehomed with a loving family in the UK, who renamed her ‘Elvira’ to mark the start of her new life.
